The Italian word "divertire" (to amuse), in the etymological sense of the word, from divertere, means "to turn the mind, the soul, elsewhere, to distract and divert from worries and cares". From this point of view, to amuse oneself, one does not need something that trivially makes one laugh, one does not need to be tickled; instead, one needs to encounter the unexpected, situations that, by their peculiarity, attract attention, intrigue, surprise. This is the premise behind Bestiario Fluviale e altri racconti, a collaboration between Margherita Loba Amadio and the brand cU - cancellato UNIFORM. Gradually drawing on the brand's archives, over the course of six months Margherita photographed chapters of surreal life, framing circumstances made of play, beauty and a touch of absurdity. Through her gaze, we see nature, animals and people who inhabit her heartlands amalgamate with cU garments. Thus the ordinary takes on an almost dreamlike dimension and, perhaps, we can enjoy imagining it beeing possible.
