“I’m interested in examining and exploring what is not completely done yet, projects with a complicated positioning and yet they manage to engage with audiences of various nature and, at best, create some new ones.”

“A work of art can be considered as something good and efficient if it manages to somehow leave the observer with something. It moves something, it lets something in without the pretension to fully grasp and understand it.”

“The objective is to always keep looking for original formulas in order to create positive tension and stimulate critical thinking. Simply put, to have the courage to disrupt in virtuous terms. That’s what art is for: to go past the known, stability, and our acquired mentality. To leave our comfort zone, to cross the threshold and breach through our habits. To jump in the darkness.”

Davide Giannella is an independent curator. His research focuses on the possible relationships between the art system and the different areas of the contemporary culture, as well as on the translation of projects and artistic contents in different contexts and platforms.
