FUORISALONE 2022 - DESIGN WEEK MILANO

7-12 JUNE

Cariplo Factory

On the occasion of the Fuorisalone 2022 cU presented its first pop-up store, designed by the architect and art designer Caterina Fumagalli. The exposition of the entire collection is thought to be immersed in a dreamlike landscape, between flowers and soft gold pink islands. The aesthetic appearance of the project is the result of a non-stop research on accessibility and on the usability of the spaces which we would want to live in our daily life. The staging was conceived to reflect in the space the philosophy, the values and the research of the brand, which are directed towards symbiotic connections that link together the natural and the intangible, environment and culture, technologies and craftsmanship. During the Milan Design Week 2022 visitors were accompanied towards the discovery of the new continuous collection of cU, made with a cellulose fiber extracted from wood from sustainable sources, using environmentally friendly processes. Other than that, it was possible to participate to Oliverso, the show schedule that from the 7th to the 12 of June narrated, inside the pop up, the imaginary and the ethical cultural universe from which the project and the new Cancellato Uniform collection was born. For the event of the Fuorisalone was activated a metaphorical workshop capsule that explored the continuous technical, human and creative research with which the project identifies. Everything was translated in many different artistic performances curated by Carlotta Franco, architect, researcher and author. The sound of the Pop-up was curated by the media partner Fritto FM, community and digital radio that decided to give custody of the curatorship of the music to Slip Mode, a collective of girls and non binary people born with the idea to spread the know-how of DJing. The planning of the event explores the values of a sustainable production which can be able to look at the body without any limitation. There were moments of laboratory, performances and talks that explored different holistic approaches: matter, ecosystem and knowledge. The protagonists of this rich program was the designer Tellurico, author of a sculpture performance, Go Dugong who curated a musical set, Roberto Alfano with a laboratory of representation of the body for kids of all ages, from 0 to 100. Martina Geroni who brought her ceramics workshop into the exhibition space, introducing us to a contemporary approach to the lathe and artisanal production, Parasite 2.0 who took a talk on substance and on its reproducibility, and Kabul Magazine with whom we discussed ecosystem sustainability and eco transfeminism.
