“Kids are immediate at getting things, they are sincere, they need to identify and feel involved in every way with what is being narrated. They need images, dreams, and emotions. As well as dynamism, rhythm and poetry.”
“Improvisation plays a big role in the realisation of the play. As well as silences, small grandeur moments. That’s how a parallel world made of dancing lights arises: small locks of colour interacting with humans, living moon rays, talking animals.”
“You never get over that feeling. Us human beings will always need someone who tells us a story. We will always need fairy tales, horror stories, stories that leave us amazed and astonished. In a nutshell, we will always need theatre.”
Montessori & Brandao was born as a professional theatre company for young adults, in 1987. Elena Montessori graduated at Ecole Internationale de Theatre of Jacques Lecoq and at Scuola di animazione del Piccolo Teatro di Milano. She also worked as a children’s entertainer at Teatro del Buratto di Milano. Nivaldo Brandao is an actor, a director and a scenographer, he graduated at Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera.
