“That’s when we looked at each other and decided there was a void that needed to be filled. We needed to create a new space. A space which is more virtual than physical. A space where women, non binary people, marginalized and minorities of all kinds can get together to talk, share thoughts and information, to learn new skills and to get started in the creative and artistic local world. A space open to contamination.”

“A little community which gets together and helps the weaker. We give high priority to those who can’t make it, even just because of shyness. Our first step was that of organizing a workshop for djing and mixing, mainly addressed to those who didn’t have money or an acquaintance in the right crowd to help them move in that environment.”

“And this is what it means to build a community: get together to feel part of something bigger, while acting locally. We do that with our networks and with our various artistic languages.”

Slipmode is a community (founded by Sofia Blu Cremaschi and Nina Schutz) mainly composed of women. A platform to educate and connect aspiring creatives in Milan by giving priority to people who have difficulties in accessing the creative industry of the city. To do so, they organize workshops and events in which they explore different thematics: from djing to photography, video-making and self-production.
