“My practice today is both ecstatic and political. Art is always political, it leaves its mark on the world and it changes it, consciously or not consciously. My goal is always to create and spread energy, whether it’s critical, creative or not sharing a clear message. This is because art creates above all doubt, questioning and a problematic construction.”
“This is how art, together with more sociological theories, opens the mind to new links, new solutions and awareness, without proposing a dogmatic nor a rigid answer, but instead it cultivates doubt and questioning.”
“The concept of artistic residency is the actual personification of what I’m saying: a place in which different personalities get together to experiment and give life to something new and relevant. A communitarian work made of exchange, hence of restitution.”
Zoë De Luca Legge (she/her) is a curator, critic and occasional writer working between Milan and Rome. Her work focuses on layering interdisciplinary studies and slow collective practices to create projects with critical, ecological and transfeminist premises.
